Welcome to Strange Coupling! A longstanding UW tradition, StrangeCo is an exciting opportunity for UW students to collaborate 1-on-1 with established Seattle artists.

Applications are due December 18th at midnight (deadline extended), with a final selection made in early January. Following the final selection we will be having an announcement party at Rodrigo Valenzuela's house (date tbd). This will mark the start of your collaborations. We are hoping to provide you with 2 months of time to collaborate. The final exhibit will be displayed at Charlie Schuck's Belltown Studio. The show will open on a Thursday in late March and run through the weekend. We look forward to seeing you all at the Fundraiser - December 14th at 7pm at the Jacob Lawrence Gallery. Strange Coupling IX Opening Reception at Vermillion

See the collaborative work of this year's Strange Couples at the opening reception of Strange Coupling IX during Captiol Hill's second Thursday art walk at Vermillion. The show runs from April 4th to April 23rd. Selected works will be silent auctioned at the reception on April 14th, with bidding promptly ending at 8:00 (cash or check only, please).

Student artists and established artists met and mingled last week at the coupling party, kindly hosted by TARL. Each pair has until the group show in April to make some collaborative art.

Auction/Kick-Off Party Rocked!

The Strange Coupling 2011 Auction/Kick-Off Party rocked, thanks to the help of all the artists, students, and faculty that showed up, donated art, bought art, and helped out. We had a ton of student applicants—which is awesome—and we'll announce the Strange Couples in the next two weeks!
